12 Nights / 13 Days Tour

Day 1 : Pick up from Bagdogra airport of West Bengal, India. Drive down to Buxa Tiger Reserve (5 hours) through the foothills of the mighty Himalayas (known as Dooars). The entire route will take you through small hamlets and towns surrounded by jungles and vibrant tea gardens. Transfer to resort / home stay inside the jungle. Afternoon a stroll in the surrounding jungles for bird-watching and interaction with fellow villagers.
Day 2 : Morning open Jeep safari inside the core area of the park in search of elephants, leopards, wild boars and numerous birds. Afternoon visit river Jayanti for witnessing a mesmerizing sunset.
Day 3 : Morning visit remnants of Fort Buxa (The King of Bhutan used this fort to protect the portion of the famous ‘SilkRoute’ connecting Tibet with India, via Bhutan. Still later during the unrest and occupation of Tibet hundreds of refugees arrived at the place and used the then abandoned fort as refuge). A short trek to Lepchakha will give you a view of the valley below. Afternoon short treks inside the jungle for birds, butterflies and dragonflies. Evening tribal dance with bonfire.
Day 4 : After breakfast drive down to Jaldapara National Park (1.5 hours)and transfer to resort adjacent to jungle. Afternoon open Jeep safari inside the jungle in search of Elephants, Rhinos, Tigers, Leopards etc.
Day 5 : Morning open Jeep safari inside the jungle. Afternoon drive down to Shikiajhora for boat cruise with birding.
Day 6 : After breakfast drive down to Gorumara National Park (2 hours) and transfer to resort adjacent to jungle. Afternoon open Jeep safari inside the jungle in search of Elephants, Rhinos, Tigers, Leopards etc.
Day 7 : Morning open Jeep safari in Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary. Afternoon  visitMedla watch tower inside Gorumara National Park.
Day 8 : After breakfast drive to Lepchjagat  Reserve forest (4 hours). A heaven for nature lovers and birders. It is a small village located in the wilderness at an altitude of 2123 meters and 20 km away from Darjeeling. Full day stroll in the nearby jungles or sit in a comfortable place and keep clicking the rich avifauna of the locale.
Day 9 : Full day birding activity with experienced birder and guide.
Day 10 : After breakfast drive to ‘Tumsong Chiabari’ (1 hour). Relive the days of the British Raj in a tea estate. Stay in the Planter’s Bungalow which is more than 125 years old but restored to it’s days of former glory.Full day birding in and around the tea estate.
Day 11 : After breakfast drive down to Darjeeling for a full day experience of the place. Darjeeling, the imperial summer retreat of the British and continues to be so till date. Heritage buildings, continental food (in Glenary’s and Keventer’s), handicrafts, local people and their culture against the back drop of the Kanchenjunga range of the Himalayas will entice you. Darjeeling produces the finest tea in the world which can be tasted and bought from here.
Day 12 : Morning birding in and around the tea estate. Afternoon a visit to the tea processing factory in the vicinity to get a first-hand knowledge on tea production.
Day 13 : After breakfast drop to Bagdogra airport.

Tribal Dance in Buxa which is mainly of Nepali origin.
A day tour of Darjeeling for mixed experience.

Best time to travel: October to May (December and January is cold in Lepchjagat and Darjeeling)
